Individualized Physical Therapy in Mount Pleasant, SC
Your care should adapt to you—not the other way around.
In our Mount Pleasant clinic, you work one-on-one with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy every visit, receiving hands-on physical therapy tailored to how your body moves.
This continuity allows for detailed evaluation, hands-on physical therapy, and immediate adjustments as your movement improves. The result is a clear plan, fewer unknowns, and progress you can feel with every session.
Care Designed Around
Trackable Improvement
Progress doesn’t happen randomly. At PTS Physical Therapy, your Mount Pleasant treatment plan starts with a detailed evaluation and movement analysis, then adapts as your strength, mobility, and confidence improve—so your care continues to match where you are, not where you started.
How this approach supports your recovery:
One-on-one access to a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy at every appointment
Hands-on techniques combined with purpose-driven movement work
Emphasis on durable movement patterns, not short-term fixes
Programs built around your condition, goals, and daily demands
Objective markers used to monitor progress over time
Ongoing adjustments as your body changes, so treatment never stalls
Our Mount Pleasant physical therapy programs are structured to improve how you move in real life, not just how you feel in the clinic.

Physical Therapy Questions
Mount Pleasant Patients Ask Most
A patient-first alternative to high-volume clinics
Choosing physical therapy in Mount Pleasant shouldn’t mean rushed visits or rotating providers. Many local patients choose PTS Physical Therapy because they want consistent one-on-one care, clear communication, and a therapist who remains involved from start to finish.
Is private physical therapy worth the extra cost in Mount Pleasant?
Yes—for many Mount Pleasant patients, private physical therapy is worth it because care is delivered one-on-one for the full session. This level of attention often leads to more consistent progress and fewer repeat visits, and most major insurance plans are accepted to help keep care accessible for patients coming from neighborhoods like Belle Hall, Park West, and Seaside Farms.
Will I recover faster with private physical therapy?
Many patients see progress sooner because private physical therapy allows treatment to be adjusted every visit. This is especially helpful for Mount Pleasant residents balancing work schedules, bridge commutes, and active lifestyles who want each session to move recovery forward.
How is private physical therapy different from a typical clinic?
In private physical therapy, your Mount Pleasant physical therapist focuses only on you during your appointment. There is no rotating between patients or shared attention, which allows for more precise care, clearer progression, and fewer setbacks compared to high-volume clinics.
Will I see the same physical therapist each visit?
Yes. Patients typically work with the same licensed Mount Pleasant Doctor of Physical Therapy at every visit. This continuity allows your therapist to track progress closely and make informed adjustments as your movement improves over time.
Will my sessions include hands-on treatment, or just exercises?
Sessions include active treatment, not independent exercise time. Care combines hands-on techniques, guided movement, and real-time correction so patients from across Mount Pleasant feel supported and supervised throughout each visit.

DPT, OCS, Physical Therapist
Dr. Cody Gunselman
Dr. Cody Gunselman completed his undergraduate studies at Kent State University and went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Cleveland State University. After graduate school, Cody chose to begin his physical therapy career as a contractor in clinics around the country that were in need of therapists. He valued gaining experience in multiple settings, learning from different clinicians, and was able to see the country in his spare time. Cody’s treatment areas include orthopedics, sports, vestibular, dry needling, blood flow restriction, and performance training. He has a passion for working with throwing athletes. He plans on obtaining his Level 1 CrossFit coaching certification. One of the biggest philosophies Cody tries to empower in his patients is to simply be active. He feels that, “If you have a body, you are an athlete.” If you come to physical therapy, it’s likely because something is stopping you from doing things you either need to do or love to do, so rehab should include those specific activities. Cody feels the fitness industry has changed, and PTs have the skillset to help people continue to be active at higher levels. He has a vision of educating people that just as you have a primary care physician you regularly see, you can have a physical therapist you can see in order to achieve your goals. Physical therapists are your doctors for movement and injuries. In his free time, Cody enjoys playing recreational sports which include playing golf and competing in softball/basketball leagues. While traveling around the country he picked up participating in CrossFit, which along with recreational sports leagues has helped fill his void for competition. He has a love for traveling and hiking. He’s excited to begin a new chapter here in the lowcountry.
