“My husband and I can’t thank Trina enough for helping me overcome vaginismus at the beginning of our marriage.  We waited to have sex until we got married.  Neither of us had heard of vaginismus before.  On our honeymoon, I had panic attacks when we attempted sex.  We gradually realized that this was much more than “virgin nerves”.  Something was really wrong, attempts at sex were painful, and I was completely unable to have intercourse.  We were devastated, and the future of our marriage looked hopeless at times.
Finally, after about 6 months, a gynecologist referred me to Trina for pelvic PT.  Trina was professional, personable, compassionate and easy to talk to.  She explained that my muscles were tightening in anticipation of pain, which led to more pain.  Trina patiently educated my husband and me about the muscles involved and showed us how to persuade them to relax.  After 6-8 months of appointments with Trina, stretching, exercises, massage, etc., we finally had sex for the first time!  We were beyond thrilled, and Trina was thrilled right along with us!   She is not only an excellent and knowledgeable therapist, but was also a kind and understanding support for the very difficult emotions we were going through during this time.  My only regret is that I didn’t go see her sooner.  We’re privileged to count her as a friend.”
